I spent years as a cloud and data-platform architect — a deep instinct for solid engineering, contributor to the open-source platform HelloDATA. Then I started working seriously with coding agents.
They did the boring work faster than I ever could. The honest reaction was existential: go with it, or get left behind. I went with it — and saw the gap nobody was closing. Vibe-coding is real, but it throws away 20 years of software engineering. The last 20% — architecture, tests, review, software that actually sells — is still the whole job.
